Manchester United supporting punters here inside the Football Transfer Tavern are looking closely at a report from Football Insider – with the publication suggesting that the Red Devils are closing in in a deal for Livingston striker Matthew Knox, with the player arriving at Carrington for a week long trial.
The 16-year-old made his debut for Livingston on Boxing Day and became the club’s youngest ever player – and it seems that Louis van Gaal wants to lure the highly-rated talent to Old Trafford.
The Red Devils fans here in the Tavern have been slagging off the United players on a number of occasions this season, in what has been a below par season for Louis van Gaal and his side – and this news has got them somewhat excited, but most of them have never heard of the kid!
Our landlord here in the Tavern admits he also doesn’t know too much the young striker, but argues that he must be half decent if United are considering a deal for him!
At the age of just 16, Knox is likely to get nowhere near the Man United first-team if he joins, but being part of the excellent academy setup at Carrington would be an excellent step in his professional career.
Man United fans….. What do you make of this news? Do you know much about Knox? Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
