The Manchester United fans around the pool table in the Transfer Tavern have found themselves a bit distracted from the game as they discuss the latest transfer rumour circulating the Tavern.
According to The Express, one of United’s late transfer deals for Omar Elabdellaoui has collapsed in the closing stages of the transfer deadline.
United had been reportedly keen to complete a deal for the defender before the 11pm deadline as they look to solve their defensive injury crisis.
Olympiakos had wanted a £2.5m loan fee for the right-back and his agent, Jim Solbakken, had hinted that he could join United. However, Solbakken has now revealed that a deal won’t be happening.
“He is a home grown UK player and wants to play there in the future. We’ll see what happens this coming summer,”
Not one of the biggest names to have been linked with Manchester United but still a massive disappointment to see things fall through so close to the final hurdle.
