Man United defender emerges as target for newly-promoted club

phil jonesManchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern are debating the future of one of their younger players, after he emerged as a transfer target for a newly promoted club.

The Daily Mail says Premier League new boys Hull City are keen to sign Phil Jones from Manchester United, as they prepare for their return to the top-flight.

Hull are looking to seal the future of their highly-rated manager, Steve Bruce, before making a move for the 24-year-old, who has failed to live up to his early promise at Old Trafford and has struggled to nail down a starting spot with the Red Devils.

New manager Jose Mourinho will likely have the final say on the player’s future, although the fact the Portuguese boss has already splashed £30m on Eric Bailly suggests the Red Devils aren’t currently happy with their defensive options at the club.

Our landlord believes Jones would be an incredible signing for Hull, although he feels Jones has a lot to offer a bigger club.

United fans, would you let Jones leave this summer? Let us know in the comments below!
