Reports cited by The Express declare that Van Gaal has demanded United capture Harry Kane, as he wants to leave a long-lasting legacy at Old Trafford.
Van Gaal’s contract expires at the end of next season and he wants a wealth of young players at the club when he departs, seeing Kane as the ideal striking target to ensure the Red Devils boast the best of Britain by the time he leaves his post in 2017.
Kane fired home 21 league goals, with his brace against North London rivals Arsenal fondly remembered by the lads in the corner, which led to United making discreet enquiries to sign the 22-year-old in the last window.
Despite Kane’s failure to replicate the same form this term, the reports reckon United would still have to pay somewhere around £40-50m; a price the Spurs fans still believe is under his value, whilst the lads from Manchester are bellowing that he’s actually worth far less.
Spurs and United fans, is Harry Kane really worth £50m? Let us know in the comments below!
