Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern have spent the best part of the weekend drowning their sorrows after another shock defeat, which has handed a significant blow to their title chances.
They’re growing increasingly sceptical regarding manager Louis Van Gaal and have been boosted by today’s reports, as The Daily Star suggests the Red Devils will look to replace the Dutchman with Carlo Ancelotti.
The former Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain boss, currently out of work since being axed by the Spanish giants in the summer, has recently suggested that he’d be open to leading Manchester United.
United want Ancelotti’s addition to help their chances of luring Cristiano Ronaldo back to Old Trafford, as it’s growing increasingly likely that the Portuguese ace will leave the Santiago Bernabeu at the end of the current season.
For the fans at the bar, this would be a major double deal and they’d love to secure both Ancelotti and Ronaldo imminently.
