Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern are expressing their surprise after hearing the latest name to join the club’s January wish-list, with Louis Van Gaal desperate for new faces in his squad.
Van Gaal’s search for a pacy winger has led him to a surprise target, as The Daily Mail state Bournemouth’s Scottish international Matt Ritchie is one name of the Dutchman’s wish-list.
26-year-old Ritchie has caught the eye this season with superb performances for club and country, though the Cherries are languishing near the foot of the Premier League table and Scotland failed to qualify for the European Championships in France next summer.
Although not at the top of the list of name’s Van Gaal is targeting, Ritchie is one option for the Red Devils to consider and he may be targeted if a swoop for one of their top-targets in January fails to materialise.
United, who boast the best defensive record in the Premier League, are locked within a three-way title battle alongside Manchester City and Arsenal- with new faces required to boost their chances of lifting the honour once again.
Our fans are confident their club can do the right business in January but don’t believe Ritchie will be a player joining in the New Year.
United fans, is Ritchie good enough for your team? Who do you want to sign? Let us know in the comments below!
