Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern are pleasantly surprised to see links to a star from the continent, which the lads by the pool table agree is a very smart move.
Spanish media outlet Don Balon states Manchester United are keeping tabs on Barcelona goalkeeper Claudio Bravo and will make a swoop if Real Madrid are successful in luring David De Gea to the Santiago Bernabeu.
United are at major risk of losing De Gea despite a transfer to the Spanish capital falling through right at the death of the summer window, with Real Madrid maintaining interest in the highly-rated Premier League stopper.
A transfer before Monday’s deadline is extremely unlikely to take place though, with Real Madrid so confident that they will be successful in overturning FIFA’s transfer ban that they’re putting off a move for De Gea until the summer.
Our landlord believes United are being smart by identifying a replacement though, as he feels the exit of De Gea is inevitable and the Red Devils must be prepared for a future without the Spanish star.
United fans, would Bravo be a good De Gea replacement? Let us know in the comments below!
