Man United facing stern test to land £47m target, club don’t want to sell

Renato SanchesManchester United’s plans for the summer just took a turn for the worst, which has frustrated many in the Transfer Tavern, after it was revealed a prime target will be difficult to land this summer.

The Daily Telegraph state Benfica are desperate to keep hold of 18-year-old wonder-kid Renato Sanches this summer, who Manchester United have been heavily linked to throughout the past year.

Rated as the best prospect in Portuguese football since a certain Cristiano Ronaldo, United want to bring the teenager to Old Trafford to join their already bolstering ranks- and they believe by adding Sanches they will boast three of the world’s best youngsters, alongside Luke Shaw and Anthony Martial.

However, Benfica want Renato Sanches to stay put for at least another year and their stance will create problems for Manchester United as the Red Devils will have to pay at least £47m to persuade the Portuguese outfit into a sale.

Benfica believe Renato Sanches’ value will increase further in the next year, especially with the teenager making his debut for Portugal last week and looking likely to display his talents on centre stage in this summer’s European Championships.

United fans, is a mammoth sum for a young player something you should avoid this summer? Let us know in the comments below!
