Manchester United once again bundled their way to a measly home draw this weekend with a poor showing in front of the Old Trafford crowd.

A stalemate with Crystal Palace has done little to lift the pressure and gloom over Jose Mourinho, and United need to seriously get into gear and quick if they to finish in the top four.

January looks like being a hugely important window for the Red Devils, and we think they simply have to go out and sign a new centre half if they want to improve.

And one player we think could fit right in is former Chelsea defender Nathan Ake, who is excelling for Bournemouth at the moment under Eddie Howe.

Ake has been in superb form for Bournemouth ever since making the move to the Cherries from the Blues, and over the next few years is bound to see his value soar as interest grows around the young centre half.

United simply have to sign a new man to build around at the back, and Ake could well prove to be that man.

It remains a mystery as to why Chelsea allowed him to leave, but he is quality, and a move to Man United would not phase him in the slightest based on his current performances.

Man U fans! What do you think? Do you rate Ake? Let us know in the comments!
