Manchester United and Arsenal are modern rivals who have competed which each other this side of the Millenia, with the peak coming in the early 2000’s, and those in the Transfer Tavern are gearing themselves up for a battle between the pair in the transfer market.
The Daily Mirror has revealed Manchester United have held secret talks with Borussia Dortmund ace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, as they seek to beat Arsenal to the signature of the Gabonese international.
Dortmund do not want to sell the 27-year-old, who has an incredible record of 35 goals in 40 games this season for the German side, but United are preparing to offer a phenomenal figure of £60m to land the prized asset.
Any deal is likely to hinge on whether Aubameyang himself wants a move and United have looked to entice the striker to Old Trafford by stating their global status can help the former St Etienne forward establish himself as one of the best African players of all-time.
Worryingly though, the striker has flirted with Real Madrid and it has been revealed he made a promise to his grandfather that he would play for Los Blancos.
Will Aubameyang move to the Premier League this summer? Let us know in the comments below!
