Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern are debating whether to make a move for a quality target, after being informed how much he will cost.
Di Marzio states Borussia Dortmund have informed Manchester United they will have to part with £30.8m to sign Armenian international Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who is rapidly entering the final 12 months of his contract.
Mkhitaryan is reluctant to sign a new deal with the Bundesliga giants but Dortmund aren’t willing to let the player go cheaply and will happily let the playmaker run down his contract, as they’ve already lost two star players this season with Mats Hummels moving to Bayern Munich and Ilkay Gundogan joining Manchester City.
United have been heavily linked to Mkhitaryan’s signature, along with Arsenal, but the Red Devils seemingly have an advantage as super-agent Mino Raiola is determined to land his client a move to Old Trafford, despite them not being able to offer Champions League football.
Our landlord reckons Arsenal are still contenders though, so he’s urged United not to get ahead of themselves.
Would Mkhitaryan be worth this price tag? Let us know in the comments below!
