Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern may be preoccupied with potential signings this summer but they’ve also grown wary of exits that could occur, with one name on the lips of the fans this week.
Fortunately for the Red Devils, it seems an exit is a no-go for this player as ESPN report Sergio Romero has dismissed speculation of a return to his native Argentina, where River Plate are eying his signature.
Romero impressed at the start of the season during David De Gea’s absence but upon the Spaniard’s return, World Cup finalist Romero has found first-team opportunities at Old Trafford extremely limited.
De Gea may still leave this summer, which could hand Romero his avenue into a regular starting berth, but amid speculation of United eyeing new goalkeepers, it certainly doesn’t seem promising for a goalkeeper only signed last summer.
However, River Plate will not be his destination as Romero told reporters he’s fully focused on Manchester United– though he didn’t rule out an exit in the summer.
With plenty of changes afoot in Manchester, it’s one story fans should definitely keep their eye on.
