Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern are far from pleased with how their season has progressed but they have expressed their relief to our glass collectors that their club is still capable of attracting big names.
The confidence of the lads gathered by the sofas has been bolstered by the latest reports they’ve read today, with The Sun stating Manchester United are in pole position to capture £40m-rated striker Odion Ighalo.
Ighalo has been in excellent form for the Hornets this season, helping Quique Sanchez Flores side into a strong position upon their return to the top-flight. The striker’s presence in front of goal has been a massive contributing factor to this success, as he’s scored 14 times in 24 appearances.
However, it’s extremely unlikely that Ighalo will remain at Vicarage Road beyond the summer as interest in the forward intensifies- and United will revise their pursuit of the striker come the end of the season, having seen a Deadline Day approach rebuffed.
Our landlord believes Ighalo is exactly the type of forward United are crying out for, although a supposed £40m fee has raised his eyebrows.
United fans, is £40m for Ighalo too much or do you need to pay whatever is required? Let us know in the comments below!
