The Man Utd fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are hoping that a few key signings in January could boost their season…
After a summer of spending, many of the United fans in the Tavern were expecting a prolonged title challenge under Jose Mourinho this season.
However, after 7 games the Manchester giants now sit 5 points off the top spot – suggesting that the Jose Mourinho-led outfit are not quite ready for a title challenge.
This is seemingly something that the Portuguese boss is looking to rectify; with the new United boss reportedly planning to spend big during the January transfer window.
As per the Sun, Man Utd are reportedly lining up a move for French ace Tiemoue Bakayoko.
Bakayoko, a 22-year-old French midfielder, currently plies his trade for Monaco in Ligue 1, and has impressed since his arrival in 2014.
He came to the attention of a few of the punters in the Tavern earlier this season, having turned out against Tottenham in the Champions League.
The Man Utd fans in the Football Transfer Tavern have mixed opinions on this proposed deal. On one hand, he is a very good player – but conversely; United have a lot of depth in the role.
Jose Mourinho is seemingly keen to bulk out his midfield with defensive steel; and Bakayoko would definitely fit that bill.
