According to talkSPORT, Spanish international midfielder Koke says the reason why he didn’t the follow the likes of Diego Costa and Filipe Luis to the Premier League is because he says Atletico Madrid is home.
Jose Mourinho managed to draft in a couple of Koke’s former team-mates but the 22-year-old insists his future lies at the Vicente Calderon.
Both Premier League clubs were trying to land him in the summer alongside other European clubs with Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain also knocking on the door after the midfielder burst onto the scene playing such a big role as Atletico went on to win La Liga.
He said: “Atletico is my home, it’s my life.
“I decided to stay to enjoy one of the best moments in the history of this club.
“The club did not need to sell and I did not want to leave.”
It is well publicised in the red half of Manchester that they are desperate to balance their squad with so many attackers on their books whilst Liverpool are left to try and bolster their midfield with recent doubts over Steven Gerrard’s fitness also coming into the equation.
