Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern have been handed more misery today, which has led to a group of supporters sulking in the corner of the room.
The Daily Mirror says Manchester United are looking to leave Arsenal empty handed in the transfer market, as it’s stated they’re desperate to beat the Gunners in the chase for Watford striker Odion Ighalo.
26-year-old Ighalo has excelled in his inaugural Premier League season, helping the Hornets find themselves comfortably above the relegation spots in the league and within reach of a shock European finish.
Whilst an entry to European competition is unlikely, it shows how good a job Quique Sanches Flores has done with Watford this term and Ighalo has been a crucial asset to the squad- although his performances have sparked plenty of interest.
Arsenal want the forward to bolster their attacking lines but Manchester United, and Jose Mourinho, are keen on the forward- and the Red Devils plan to push through a move regardless of whether Mourinho ends up as their new boss.
With a distinct lack of quality forwards available on the market, our landlord is concerned that missing out on Ighalo will cause Arsenal major problems- and it’s a belief our fans share.
Arsenal fans, how big a blow would it be to miss out on Ighalo’s signature? Let u know in the comments below!
