Our resident Manchester United fans here inside the Football Transfer Tavern are pretty shocked at the news filtering in from the Daily Star (via The Telegraph) – with the publication suggesting that Manchester United are monitoring Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy.
The media outlet suggests the Red Devils will look to compete with Chelsea and Manchester City for his signature, and this has certainly caused a fracas here in the Tavern!
Our landlord admits that Vardy has been sensational this season, but whether he can keep up this run of form remains to be seen – and feels that the likes of United and Chelsea should be looking elsewhere.
At the age of 28, Vardy is slowly reaching the latter stages of his playing career and will undoubtedly be considering his options for his next step.
A handful of Manchester United fans enjoying a beer and burger here in the Tavern feel that Louis van Gaal should be looking at world class players, like Aubameyang from Dortmund for example!
Meanwhile, a couple of United fans here in the Tavern argue that Vardy is a proven Premier League goalscorer and that is exactly what the club need, so would have no issues if the Red Devils pursued his signature.
Man United fans….. What do you make of this news? Would you like to see Jamie Vardy at Old Trafford? Let us know below!
