A big boost for the Man Utd fans in the Football Transfer Tavern…
Since his arrival in Manchester, Henrikh Mkhitaryan has failed to impress the Man Utd fans in the Tavern.
A poor run of form, a run of injuries and his misuse have lead to his dismissal from the United first team – and the Armenian now finds himself on the sidelines as a result of a recurring muscular injury.
Having not played under Mourinho for several weeks, the Portuguese boss is seemingly desperate to get Mkhitaryan back into the first team fold; and has issued a bold request for the Armenian FA ahead of the international break.
Man Utd have requested that Mkhitaryan be excused from international duty in order to further continue his rehabilitation in Manchester – ahead of an imminent return to the first team fold.
Resultantly, it would appear that the winger is likely to be excused from duty – in the hope that he will be able to return to full training thereafter.
Our landlord thinks that this is a good decision, as forcing the Armenian to play when not fully fit will leave an increased risk of worsening the injury – meaning more time on the sidelines.
The summer signing has made 5 appearances for United so far, and has yet to score for the club.
With Jose Mourinho’s men slowly finding their form, Mkhitaryan will be crucial going forward – and it would appear that the club are desperate to have the Armenian available for the ride.
