Yacine Brahimi is a name that our punters in the Football Transfer Tavern Tavern will be getting increasingly familiar if Metro are to be believed after the publication claimed that both halves of Manchester are keen on the Porto star.
The Algerian international has impressed this season, so much so that both Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal and Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini are considering making a swoop for him this summer with a fee of £29.5 million believed to be enough to prise him away from Porto.
As one of our punters notes, Porto are not exactly a club who can turn that kind of money down, nor would a player pass up the chance to not only join the Premier League but also one of football’s elite sides.
We also think that Brahimi will become an instant hero in one half of Manchester, simply for turning the other down!
Always the voice of caution, our landlord notes that both sides are probably in need of a centre back before they go splashing nearly £30 million on another winger!
Manchester United fans. Do you really need someone like Brahimi or should van Gaal solely be concentrating on defensive reinforcements? Let us know your thoughts below.
