Man United manager reveals his plans for January signings

Van GaalManchester United fans enjoying a pint this Friday evening are delighted with the latest comments from their manager, who detailed his plans to recruit in January.

Despite spending over £250m since taking the job in the summer of 2014, Metro state Louis Van Gaal has indicated he will splash the cash in January– though he insisted his current squad isn’t too small.

‘No it is not [too small] otherwise I would have had a bigger squad. I believe in smaller squads because you need perspective otherwise the motivation is a doubt.’

‘I think 22 players and three goalkeepers is enough so I am still one short.’

A host of players have been linked with the Red Devils by the tabloids and our regulars believe that United need to add a few more names if they are to genuinely challenge for the Premier League title, identifying their attack as the weak link in the squad.

Anthony Martial has proved to be a hit but Wayne Rooney has been misfiring, leaving too much of a burden upon the shoulders of the teenage striker; which means a new forward is likely to arrive in the New Year.

United offloaded three strikers in the summer, with Robin Van Persie and Javier Hernandez joining Fenerbahce and Bayer Leverkusen respectively, whilst Radamel Falcao’s unsuccessful loan spell reached an end.

United fans, who should you sign in January? Let us know in the comments below!
