Man United manager set to quit, Mourinho to take over

vangaal0Manchester United fans heading for an early pint in the Transfer Tavern after work this afternoon were greeted with news they find extremely positive, as it’s suggested it will be all change in the Red Devils hierarchy.

The Daily Mirror states Louis Van Gaal is considering stepping aside as manager at the end of the season, one year before his planned retirement date, in a move that would seal the path for Jose Mourinho to return to the Premier League.

64-year-old Van Gaal has made it clear from day one that the United job would be his last managerial role but amid plenty of criticism, the Dutchman is considering taking his retirement one season early as the stress is clearly getting to him.

Those close to him believe he will pack his bags at the end of the season, with Jose Mourinho the most likely replacement as he waits for the United role to become available following his departure from Chelsea last year.

Our landlord believes Van Gaal stepping-aside this summer would be the right call but he’s concerned that Mourinho does not have the capability to complete a major squad overhaul, which is something the Red Devils need.
