Manchester United fans drowning their sorrows in the Transfer Tavern after another disappointing result yesterday have overheard some concerning reports, which have led them to question their club’s managerial approach.
Sky Sports interviewed Jose Mourinho, the favourite to replace Louis Van Gaal this summer at Manchester United, at the O2 arena during Anthony Joshua’s heavyweight winning fight over Charles Martin.
When quizzed about his future, the former Chelsea boss revealed he won’t be out of the game for much longer but as of yet, there’s no deal with Manchester United.
“Van Gaal is my friend, I worked with him for a few years. I am always linked with jobs and in the summer I will have a job, but in this moment I can promise you I do not have a contract with any club.”
“I am not in a position to turn (jobs) down, I am in a position to analyse. I am in a position to be open to any club or national team. I would prefer (to be in England). I love the country, I love the football here, my family is very stable and happy.”
Despite Mourinho’s comments favouring English clubs, United fans are concerned that their side’s reluctance to push through a deal will cost them in the coming months, as both Inter Milan and Real Madrid have been linked with a return for their former manager, whilst the Syrian national team also lodged a surprise offer.
Manchester United fans, would not appointing Mourinho be a major mistake? Let us know in the comments below!
