Man United must forget disappointing transfer history and land this £40.5m-rated attacker

The Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern are hoping Jose Mourinho will be busy making some key acquisitions to the United squad in the January transfer window.

Much to the dismay of the Red Devils propping up the bar in the tavern, it looks as if the title race is already over this season. Their local-rivals have stormed ahead at the summit of the league table under the supervision of Pep Guardiola who is beginning to show the footballing world why he is so highly regarded in the game.

The extent of Manchester City’s supremacy is one of the greatest that the Premier League has bore witness to in its 25 year history, and United will be eager to prevent them from continuing in the same vein for much longer.

With that being said, Jose Mourinho will undoubtedly be looking ahead to the upcoming January window to bring some players to the club who can catalyse an improvement at United and enable them to reduce the gulf in class between the Manchester clubs.

And according to the Daily Mail, United have already lined up a move for Borussia Dortmund’s highly-regarded wonderkid Christian Pulisic.

The American international, who is rated at £40.5 million by Transfer Markt, is already making quite a name for himself at just 19-years-of-age, and his performances in Dortmund yellow have already begun to catch the attention of Europe’s heavyweight clubs.

Some of the United supporters may take issue with the pursuit of Dortmund’s star, considering the limited success of Shinji Kagawa and Henrik Mkhitaryan in their spells at Old Trafford after completing a transfer from the Westfalenstadion.

However, United should not be deterred by the aforementioned players failure to live to expectation at Old Trafford, and they should make every effort to land a player who looks destined to be a future superstar in European football.

He offers technique, pace and unbelievable potential, and having already made 14 Bundesliga starts this season, it’s clear that he’s a player for the present too.

Mourinho is one of Europe’s best at bringing the best out of talented players, and so if the Portuguese is able to work his magic on Pulisic, Man Utd could have themselves a frightening prospect.
