Man United must pay £65m to land Premier League star

lukaku99112Manchester United fans enjoying some nibbles from the Transfer Tavern snack menu almost choked on a peanut after they heard the price that one of their prime targets will cost.

The Sun state Everton have informed the Red Devils that they must pay £65m to snatch Romelu Lukaku, who has more goals in all competitions this season than any other player in the Premier League.

Belgian international Lukaku has been in superb form for the Toffees this season, and since joining the Merseyside outfit, which has caught the attention of Europe’s top-sides; including Manchester United.

However, Everton are determined to keep hold of their prized asset and are hopeful that their price-tag will put off any potential suitors.

22-year-old Lukaku, Everton’s record signing after arriving for a fee of £28m, is one of the most exciting strikers in European football and has made no secret of his desire to play in the Champions League- with it unlikely Everton will hand him that opportunity.

With three years to run on his contract, Everton are in a good bargaining position and will fend off any interest, just like they did with John Stones in the summer.

Our landlord believes Lukaku’s exit from Everton is inevitable but that the youngster must consider his options, ensuring that any side he joins can assure him of first-team football.

United fans, is Lukaku worth £65m? Should you bid? Let us know in the comments below!
