The drama does not seem to be stopping here in the Football Transfer Tavern as the Daily Mail are proposing a sensational switch between Manchester United and Atletico Madrid.
The club are apparently set to ramp up their pursuit of Radamel Falcao and will offer one of their very own players as a sweetener to the deal. Atletico Madrid have been rumoured to be considering Javier Hernandez as a summer target and now given that it seems certain Falcao will be leaving the Vicente Calderon, the Mexican forward has jumped to the top of their wanted list.
It does seem that the links to Falcao and United have come somewhat out of nothing yet there is some substance to the rumours with Spanish expert Guillem Balague claiming that United are indeed in the race for the forward and are ready to offer £27 million plus the £20m-rated Hernandez as an additional part of the deal.
This news will sit rather uncomfortably for not only Chelsea and Real Madrid who both felt they were leading the race for the forward but also with Wayne Rooney who of course has faced speculation over his own future and now it seems with another forward potentially joining, a further fall down the pecking order could well occur.
