It takes a lot to silence the rowdy Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern but they were stunned into silence this afternoon after reading reports that suggested two sensational signings could be made.
With the financial situation in Catalonia growing increasingly precarious, suggestions have been rife that top-players will be sold in order to balance the books- as it emerged the wage bill takes up a whopping 73% of Barcelona’s overall revenue.
Messi and Neymar, both high-earners, are regarded extremely highly with the La Liga title leaders and they will be desperate not to lose either of the Ballon D’Or finalists. However, if their situation doesn’t improve their hands will be tied.
It’s added that United possess the financial strength to activate both star’s financial clauses and their relevant wage structures, in what could lead to a massive power-shift in the Premier League.
Despite the apparent positive reports, United fans getting a few rounds in believe it’s unlikely one of these stars would move to Old Trafford, let alone both!
What are the chances of United landing Messi AND Neymar? Let us know in the comments!
