Man United prepare lucrative swoop for record-breaking striker

LewandowskiManchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern have popped the champagne open in celebration, after reports from the continent detailed their plans to make an incredible signing.

German media outlet Bild state the Red Devils are preparing an offer to Robert Lewandowski that would see the Polish international paid a whopping £10.9m a year.

Lewandowski has established himself as the best striker in world football with his tremendous performances for Bayern Munich this season, with one particular highlight being his record-breaking haul of five goals in nine minutes off the bench against Wolfsburg.

Since making his name at Borussia Dortmund, 27-year-old Lewandowski has made himself one of the biggest names in European football and Manchester United are desperate to secure a deal- though Bayern will not want to sell.

United can expect to have to pay a hefty price for Lewandowski but Bayern may be tempted to cash-in, as they paid nothing to bring the Polish star to the Allianz Arena when his contract at Dortmund expired.

However any approach would be extremely optimistic and would be very unlikely to prove successful.
