Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern are pleased to see their side still in the hunt for Champions League football next term but their discussions today are, once again, orientating around potential transfers.
The Manchester Evening News, reporting via Don Balon, states Manchester United are lining-up a massive £31m swoop to land Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez, who’s halted contract talks with the club.
21-year-old Saul has been a crucial asset for Diego Simeone’s side this season, scoring eight goals, but is reluctant to extend his deal at the Vicente Calderon which lasts until 2020- and this is leading to an increase in United’s interest.
The young Spaniard has a wealth of experience since breaking into Atletico’s first-team and he looks set for a bright future, with the player having the ability to improve further in the coming years.
With Manchester United wanting a major squad rebuild this summer, and targeting top-quality youngsters, Saul Niguez certainly ticks all the boxes.
United fans, is this a deal your side should focus on getting over the line? Let us know in the comments below!
