Man United preparing for departure of internartional defender

DarmianManchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern are reacting to news of their first axe under Jose Mourinho, with an international defender on his way out.

Italian publication TuttoSport says Jose Mourinho is pushing for the departure of Italian full-back Matteo Darmian, just 12 months after the Red Devils brought him to the Premier League from his homeland.

Despite injury setbacks, Darmian made 39 appearances in his debut campaign for Manchester United as they won their first FA Cup trophy in over a decade- but it seems he hasn’t done enough for Mourinho to see him as a useful member of the squad.

Amidst the speculation, Juventus are keen to bring the Italian back to Serie A football but Darmian would face immense competition for places in Turin, as the Old Lady have recently handed Patrice Evra a contract extension and look set to sign Dani Alves from Barcelona.

Any transfer seeing Darmian move away from Old Trafford would most likely take place after Italy’s involvement in the European Championships, as Darmian is on duty for his national side.

Would Mourinho be making a mistake by axing Darmian? Let us know in the comments below!
