Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern have already written off this season but they’re excitedly discussing potential summer additions whilst they gather in the bar for tonight’s Champions League football.
The Daily Mirror states Manchester United are preparing a massive bid to lure Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Old Trafford from Borussia Dortmund, with the aim of beating Premier League rivals Arsenal to his signature.
Aubameyang has been in sensational form in front of goal this season and United are ready to match Dortmund’s demands of £60m, which has scared Arsenal off, and the Red Devils are also prepared to pay the striker huge wages of £200k-a-week.
United are confident of landing the Gabonese international despite their struggles to land a spot in the Champions League next season, although the situation could change if 26-year-old Aubameyang makes it clear he wants football in Europe’s elite competition next term.
Our landlord believes this is just the beginning of a massive spending spree from Manchester United this summer, where he feels they will break a number of transfer records.
United fans, is Aubameyang the striker you need? Let us know in the comments below!
