Man United preparing to meet striker’s incredible £62m asking-price

HiguainManchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern are hopeful that their side can make a big splash in the transfer window this summer and the latest reports concerning their club have certainly whet the appetite of our punters.

Italian publication Corriere Dello Sport claim that Manchester United are ready to match Napoli’s £62m asking price for striker Gonzalo Higuain, with the 28-year-old proving himself as one of the world’s finest strikers.

United are preparing for a massive squad overhaul this summer, which is believed to be under the guidance of Jose Mourinho, and a star striker is top of the wish-list after the Red Devils struggles to find consistency in front of goal.

Higuain, who has previously been linked with a move to the Premier League to both Arsenal and Chelsea, may elect to leave Napoli this summer after three years with the club due to a lack of progression- with the Naples-based outfit failing to qualify for this season’s Champions League and facing a stern test to land a spot in Serie A’s top three.

Our landlord believes that whilst Higuain is a good target, United should find themselves a striker that’s a bit younger and he feels that could be the best option.
