Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern are pleased to see their club preparing for the long-term, as reports continue to reveal candidates to replace Louis Van Gaal in 2017.
The Daily Express says that former Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti is top of the Red Devils wish-list, as they prepare for life after Van Gaal’s retirement in 18 months time.
Currently enjoying a sabbatical away from football after leaving Real Madrid in the summer, Ancelotti is seen as the ideal replacement due to his successes previously- winning the double with Chelsea in 2009/10, leading PSG to numerous Ligue 1 titles and Real Madrid to a tenth European crown.
With United keen to ensure they don’t suffer another horrific season after a retirement of their high-profile manager, which they experience after Sir Alex Ferguson left his role, the Red Devils are making preparations to ensure a smooth transition into a new regime.
Our United regulars believe Ancelotti would be an ideal replacement but are worried they will miss out on his signature, as they can’t see such a successful manager remaining without a job for the next 18 months.
