Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern are hoping the news they’ve heard is an indication of a big deal, as it appears Jose Mourinho is set to make a large move on the transfer front.
The Daily Mirror states Manchester United have raised their offer for Borussia Dortmund ace Henrikh Mkhitaryan, with the Armenian international still refusing to pen a new deal with the Bundesliga giants.
Mino Raiola, who represents the 27-year-old, has been very public with his ambition to land his client a lucrative move to Jose Mourinho’s side and Dortmund will sell if their valuation is met, although they’re also happy to see the winger run down the remaining 12 months of his contract.
Manchester United’s latest offer may just whet the appetite of Dortmund, as it’s said to be £28m plus add-ons; which works out as around the same as the German side’s valuation of the player, believed to be around £31m.
If the deal goes ahead, it would be United’s second biggest outlay this summer and their second signing overall, having already spent £30m to bring Eric Bailly to Old Trafford from Villarreal.
