Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern have sunk a lot of pints since the transfer window closed in an attempt to forget about a disappointing month but their side are ensuring more positive movement in the summer.
Greek outlet Gazetta state Manchester United are keen on a summer move for Olympiakos full-back Omar Elabdellaoui, after failing to finalise a deal for the former Manchester City defender on Deadline Day.
The Red Devils were keen to bring the 24-year-old Norwegian international to Old Trafford on the final day of the mid-season window, to bolster their injury-plagued defensive link, but couldn’t agree a loan fee with the Greek giants.
However, Louis Van Gaal’s side are keen to revive the move at the end of the season and bring Elabdellaoui back to Manchester, where he left cross-city rivals Manchester City in 2013.
Our landlord isn’t entirely convinced that Elabdellaoui has the capability to be an important player for the Red Devils but has conceded he’d be a better option on the flanks than both Ashley Young and Antonio Valencia.
