vangaal99921Fans in the Transfer Tavern resting after finishing some last-minute Christmas shopping are surprised to see some sensational developments occurring at Old Trafford, which suggest a managerial change will be made swiftly.

The Daily Mail states that Louis Van Gaal is on the verge of being sacked after awful form and that recently sacked Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho would jump at the chance to become the manager at Old Trafford.

United’s weekend defeat to Norwich City left the Red Devils with just three victories in their last 13 matches, with the biggest embarrassment coming on the European stage as Van Gaal’s side crashed out of the Champions League.

Van Gaal’s fate looks increasingly likely to be sealed imminently, with various media outlets reporting that the Dutchman will lose his post if United endure another defeat on Boxing Day against Stoke City.

According to the latest reports, Mourinho has informed friends there are some jobs that he cannot turn down and he will jump at the chance to manage Manchester United.

Mourinho was sacked from Chelsea last week with the Blues sat just one point above the relegation zone and his side quickly found form, storming to victory against struggling Sunderland at the weekend.
