Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern had to endure some shock drama yesterday, as the abandoned match against Bournemouth ensured their Premier League campaign would last a few more days.
As they gear up for the match tomorrow, knowing that realistically their hopes of beating Manchester City to a top-four spot are over, they’ve been discussing some exciting transfer news that suggests they’re in the running to beat a Premier League rival to a quality striker.
Tuttosport states Manchester United are expressing interest in Juventus forward Alvaro Morata and will make a move for the Spanish forward if Real Madrid exercise their buy-back clause, before selling him on for a profit.
Real Madrid can purchase Morata back for just £26.3m and will then sell to the highest bidder, with the report saying United are prepared to pay as much as £39.4m to bring the highly-rated striker to English football.
Our landlord believes Morata will want Champions League football though and, therefore, will snub the advances of the Red Devils.
United fans, would Morata get you back to the top? Let us know in the comments below!
