Manchester United fans here in the Tavern will be hoping that their side can bring in a number of players over the course of the summer, as they’ll look to challenge for the title next season after failing to compete with Manchester City.
The Red Devils will be looking to improve in the next campaign as they failed to challenge bitter rivals Manchester City, with many of our local residents praying for a number of changes in the summer. However, United received a setback in their pursuit of a summer target, as according to Sun Sport, Fulham want an incredible £100 million for Ryan Sessegnon.
Indeed, it’s believed that Fulham want £100 million for Ryan Sessegnon after witnessing his award-winning season in the Championship. The youngster was recently named Championship Player of the Year and was the first Championship footballer to be nominated for PFA Young Player of the Year.
Although, United aren’t the only club interested in the wonderkid, as Tottenham Hotspur have also expressed an interest.
Interestingly, the report claims United could be willing to dig deep to land him, in what would be a record-breaking deal, making the talented teen the most expensive British player in history.
However, Fulham are desperate to keep Sessegnon at Craven Cottage despite losing the first leg of their Championship play-off semi-final. And, they will dig in their heels for a record £100 million fee, which could make Sessegnon the most expensive Englishman in history if United decide to meet the sum.
Ryan Sessegnon has established himself as arguably the most promising player in the whole of English football, but Manchester United may want to look elsewhere as £100 million may prove to be too much. Although, many of our local Mancunians still want the club to go ahead with the deal, as he has the potential to become a future star at Old Trafford.
