Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern are clashing with their Arsenal counterparts after the latest reports were read out at the bar, which forced our landlord to intervene.
The scuffle all began when one punter stated that The Independent suggest both Manchester United and Arsenal are fighting for the signature of Italian defender Daniele Rugani.
21-year-old Rugani joined Serie A champions Juventus permanently in the summer, when the Turin side bought full ownership off Empoli, but the talented defender has made just one appearance this season; coming off the bench in the 89th minute of a Champions League clash.
Juventus see Rugani as a great prospect for the future but the Italian youngster is not happy with his first-team chances, targeting a Premier League move where he may receive more playing time.
Arsenal are long-term admirers of Rugani, who is seen as a successor to their ageing defensive pair of Laurent Koscielny and Per Metersacker, but United are also keen, despite having the best defence in the Premier League, whilst Napoli also want to sign the defender.
Many in the bar consider Napoli to be favourites for a loan deal, stating that Juventus won’t want to sell permanently, whilst they’re also unconvinced Rugani would get into either of the Premier League side’s.
