West Ham fans in the Transfer Tavern furiously slammed down their empty pint glasses this afternoon after hearing that Manchester United are looking to rival their interest in an exciting player.
The Daily Express, citing Portuguese outlet A Bola, have stated Manchester United sent scouts to watch SC Braga’s winger Rafa Silva, with representatives said to have kept tabs on the youngster during his side’s recent 3-3 draw with Vitoria AC.
22-year-old Silva is said to be a target of Jose Mourinho, should the Portuguese boss land his dream job at Manchester United, and the Red Devils are ready to accelerate their interest in the player should they secure a deal for the former Chelsea boss.
United could find themselves facing vast competition for the player’s services though, as West Ham, Barcelona, Monaco and Atletico Madrid are all reported to be interested in the young wide-man.
Our landlord is unsure that Silva is the best target for United and believes they should have their sights set on bigger things, if they are to redeem themselves next term after an abysmal season this campaign.
United fans, do you agree with our landlord? Let us know in the comments below!
