Manchester United supporters here inside the Football Transfer Tavern are enjoying the latest news from the Daily Star (via news outlet Record) – with the publication suggesting that Manchester United are set to begin talks to sign Liverpool target Nicolas Gaitan.
The Benfica ace has long been touted with a move away from the Portuguese club, ever since he joined the club back in 2010 – and it’s a name our landlord here in the Tavern has got sick of hearing!
The 27-year-old attacking midfielder has been an incredibly consistent performer during his time at Benfica, and it seems that Louis van Gaal wants to bring the Argentinian attacker to Old Trafford in January.
The publication suggests that talks regarding Gaitan’s future will begin this week, and this has got our regular Manchester United fans here in the Tavern very excited, as Gaitan is a player that has always been linked with a move to United, yet a move has never seemed to materialise!
Manchester United fans….. What do you make of this news? Would you like to see the Argentinian at your club come January? Will it happen? Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
