Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern have told our bar staff they want wholesale changes this summer and it seems their side is edging closer to a significant deal.
The Daily Mail states Manchester United are on course to complete a stunning £46m deal for Benfica ace Renato Sanches, after a representative from the Portuguese side arrived in London for a continuation of talks.
18-year-old Sanches is one of the most highly-regarded talents in world football and United are set to snatch his signature for less than his contracted release clause, which stands at a phenomenal £60m.
It’s reported United will pay £31m up-front for the talented youngster, with a further £15m coming in potential bonuses, and such a move would end the Red Devils high-profile pursuit of the teenage sensation.
Given the teenager is rated as the best thing in Portuguese football since a certain Cristiano Ronaldo, it’s understandable United want to seal a move early and the player is already extremely experienced, having made two caps for Portugal’s senior side.
United fans in the bar are hoping the young talent is included amongst Portugal’s squad for the European Championships this summer, as they want to see him in action.
