Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern haven’t had a good week at all, as their 3-2 defeat to West Ham United handed their Champions League hopes a severe dent and the club then experienced missing out on two quality additions.
With Bayern Munich beating the Red Devils to the signatures of Renato Sanches and Mats Hummels, The Daily Express claims things could get worse for Louis Van Gaal’s side as Real Madrid have declared their intention to sign Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich.
Whilst Manchester United have other targets, including Lewandowski’s former Dortmund team-mate Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Everton’s Romelu Lukaku, Polish international Lewandowski is by far the more established of the trio.
United desperately need to bolster their attacking line as they’ve netted just 46 goals in 37 Premier League games, meaning their set to finish with their lowest tally in the modern era of English football.
