Manchester United fans inside the Transfer Tavern have breathed a sigh of relief today after hearing that one of their fan favourites is not eyeing an exit from the club.
During an interview with Manchester Evening News, Spanish international midfielder Juan Mata insisted he’s happy at Old Trafford and is not eyeing an exit from the Premier League club, despite what you may have read.
“I feel really good here. I have to say I am discovering more and more places in the city and I like it. The people have been good to me, they are warm people in Manchester. I feel happy here and in the city.”
Mata has been a hit since moving across the Premier League from rivals Chelsea mid-way through David Moyes one-season at Manchester United and has been a valuable asset during the reign of Louis Van Gaal.
However, speculation about his future rose amidst reports Jose Mourinho, who sold the Spaniard whilst at Chelsea, would be coming into Old Trafford and our landlord believes we haven’t heard the last from this saga, despite the player’s comments.
