What a difference a year makes. Only 12 months ago were the Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern waxing poetic about the prodigious talents of Memphis Depay.
The then-Flying-Dutchman arrived at Old Trafford with a big reputation after some stunning form for PSV Eindhoven, though has largely flopped since a £25m move to the Theatre of Dreams.
Now, it appears as if the end is nigh for the 22-year old.
According to the Daily Star, the Oranje forward is nearing an exit already after he was omitted from the squad that won the FA Cup against Crystal Palace at Wembley earlier today.
He’s fallen out of favour in recent months and has seen the likes of Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard emerge more natural attacking options under Louis van Gaal.
It is believed he reacted angrily to news he would be left out of the side and his time at the Theatre of Dreams could soon be up.
Would Depay have a future under Jose Mourinho?
