Manchester United fans are bracing themselves for a wealth of activity this summer, under new boss Jose Mourinho, and the Transfer Tavern has been left rocking after some sensational reports.
The Sun claims Manchester United have submitted a British record transfer fee offer to Juventus for the services of Paul Pogba, who left Old Trafford four years ago on a free transfer due to a lack of first-team opportunities.
23-year-old Pogba has developed into one of the finest young players in Europe during his time in Turin and the fact he left United is often regarded as the worst mistake of legendary figure Sir Alex Ferguson’s successful career.
However, Jose Mourinho has been given the green light to bring the French international back to English shores this summer and he’s lining up an audacious bid of £60m, which would narrowly break the current British record that United spent on Angel Di Maria two years ago.
A potential problem for United though is the lack of Champions League football, which other interested parties like Barcelona and Real Madrid can offer the superstar.
