Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern sent a deck of cards flying everywhere earlier today, after some massive transfer news was revealed and handed them a significant boost.
The Daily Star states David De Gea has informed Manchester United he will be going nowhere this month, shattering Real Madrid’s plans of bringing him to the Santiago Bernabeu before the close of the transfer window.
De Gea saw a move to the Spanish giants fall through right at the death of the summer transfer window and he’s been linked with a return to the Spanish capital ever since. However, FIFA’s transfer ban imposed on Zinedine Zidane’s side has given the situation a major shake-up.
With Real Madrid not able to register new players in the summer or next January, Zidane faces the stern task of getting three windows worth of transfer business completed in the next few weeks- and De Gea was a top priority.
The 25-year-old penned a new £200k-a-week deal earlier this season, ensuring he wouldn’t leave for nothing at the end of the campaign, and it appears that United can enjoy his services until at least 2017.
Our landlord believes this is a huge development for Manchester United, stating it’s more important than any new face United could bring in this month.
