Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern have been left discussing a different sort of transfer story today, which could provide a huge improvement to their clubs transfer business.
Spanish outlet AS state Manchester United have tabled an ‘irresistible’ offer to Sevilla sporting director Monchi, who has masterminded the Andalusian club’s superb transfer policy during the past decade.
Monchi’s influence with Sevilla has helped the side to win nine trophies in the last ten seasons, including three consecutive Europa League crowns, and he’s made the side over £200m in profit by selling the likes of Sergio Ramos, Ivan Rakitic and Dani Alves.
However, he’s said to have fallen out with high-ranking officials at the Spanish club and is keen to join United, where he could help United sort out their transfer business after blunders in recent years, including the likes of Marouane Fellaini and Radamel Falcao.
Crucially, new United boss Jose Mourinho admires the former goalkeeper and would be willing to work alongside him at Old Trafford- which our landlord feels is great news, as he doesn’t have faith in Mourinho’s own transfer policy.
