Manchester United fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are given a big boost as talkSPORT reveal that Monaco left back Layvin Kurzawa has admitted that he is willing to leave the French club to further his career.
The 22-year-old has become one of the most exciting properties in French football after establishing himself in Monaco’s first team.
You would imagine Louis van Gaal will be addressing his defensive deficiencies in the summer but the Red Devils will face competition from reigning French champions Paris Saint-Germain who are also interested in Kurzawa.
In a move that could well echo Patrice Evra’s switch to Old Trafford in 2006, the now French international may be willing to ignore PSG who despite their riches, aren’t running away in Ligue 1 this term.
Nevertheless, the defender has said that he will leave Monaco in the near future to fulfil his career ambitions.
“I read [that PSG are interested],” said Kurzawa.
“PSG are a big European club, but I have got too much respect for Monaco to talk about a rival club.
“Of course I think about my career choices and I have no doubt that one day I will leave Monaco. But I don’t know when.”
It is clear that the full back is going to be expensive purchase but United fans are questioning whether it would be the right decision to fork out the big fee after buying Luke Shaw from Southampton for £27 million only last summer.
Manchester United fans. Would it be silly to sign another young and expensive left back or is it a case of the more, the merrier? Let us know your thoughts below.
