Manchester United fans have frowns on their faces here in the Football Transfer Tavern after hearing what Metro have to say and we cannot blame them.
According to the publication, the Red Devils are so keen on luring Daniel Alves to Old Trafford when his deal with Barcelona expires in the summer, they will offer him a deal worth £15.6 million over three years.
Now as one of our punters rightly notes over by the pool table, there would not be a fee to pay for the right back who would be out of contract.
However, that is an astonishing amount of money to offer a player in terms of £100,000-a-week wages and a signing-on fee, considering he is now the wrong side of 30 and does not look like the player he once was.
We think that United and Louis van Gaal can do better but it seems that their heart is set on Alves, unless he pens a new deal at the Camp Nou of course.
Manchester United fans. Is this an outrageous amount of money to pay for the services of Daniel Alves next season? Let us know your thoughts below.
