Manchester United fans are looking seriously alarmed here in the Football Transfer Tavern as the Daily Express seems to think that the Red Devils are chasing a ridiculously injury-prone player.
The man in question is Roma star Kevin Strootman, who United have been tracking for some time now and who knows manager Louis van Gaal well from their time with the Dutch national side – despite sitting out the World Cup due to injury.
Former Roma club doctor Mario Brozzi was rather blunt when he spoke about the injury to the player and his apparently failed recovery, noting to La Partita Perfetta: ‘My impression is that the surgery on Strootman’s ligament did not go perfectly.’
Now as one of our punters notes over a pint, not only is it totally unprofessional of Brozzi to speak about Strootman’s issues so publicly, we are certainly concerned over the player’s future and fact that United simply cannot afford to pay big money for another player who will spend a huge portion of the season on the sidelines.
Manchester United fans. Is this just something to ignore or would you take heed of the comments and avoid Strootman at all costs now? Let us know your thoughts below.
